A QUARTET NAMED 'SPIRIT'- Gerry Papageorge, left, Pam Pieson, Catherine Barriz and Corky Harvey sing their hearts out. They're part of the larger group, Agoura Hills Harmony Chorus. Spirit, an a cappella women's quartet, recently won first-place blue ribbons in the Sweet Adelines Region 11 quartet competition in Bakersfield. This qualifies the group to compete internationally in Honolulu in November.

The singers are Catherine Berriz of Agoura Hills Harmony Chorus, bass; Pam Pieson, lead; Corky Harvey of Harborlites Chorus, baritone; and Gerry Papageorge of Verdugo Hills Chorus, tenor.

The group sang "Bye Bye Baby" and "There Goes My Heart" at the competition.

The singers are part of AHH! Chorus, an awardwinning 55member women's chorus. New members are welcome. Rehearsals are 7:15 p.m. Tuesdays at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church, One Church Road, Thousand Oaks.
