Civic Arts Plaza receives donation of $300,000 from arts alliance
      Alliance for the Arts board chair Bob Lewis brought good news to the city council at its June 24 meeting. The alliance will help fund theater operations at the Civic Arts Plaza with a $300,000 donation.

Thousand Oaks woman, 36, drowns in hot tub

     KIDS HELPING KIDS- Janeen Homes, left, president and CEO of My Stuff Bags Foundation, receives a $1,000 check from Mira Reverente of the Manzanita Elementary School PTA. Earlier this year, Manzanita held its first jog-athon in more than 10 years. The student council voted to donate part of the proceeds to My Stuff Bags Foundation, a Westlake Villagebased charity that helps abused and neglected children.
