Gardens of the World to hold jazz concerts
The Gardens of the World's sixth annual jazz concert series will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sundays from July 20 to Aug. 24 at the gardens, 2101 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks.
This year's theme is "Salute to Women in Jazz." The schedule is:
•July 20, Lori Andrews Contemporary Jazz Harp
•July 27, Jeannie Tatum and Company
•Aug. 3, Nedra Wheeler Strings and Things
•Aug. 10, Lady Jazz Kickin' Brazz with vocalist Sweet Baby J'ai
•Aug. 17, Singers on Parade: A Tribute to Rita and Bob Agnew
•Aug. 24, The Maiden Voyage All-Stars
The concerts will be held at the gardens' American Bandstand where lawn seating is available. Blankets, lawn chairs and picnics are permitted. Smoking, glass containers and pets are not allowed.
