IRIS SMOOT/Acorn Newspapers AFRICA'S ORPHANS SPONSORED- Yolande Brizendine of Agoura and her daughter Karis, 9, look at photos of orphans affected by the HIV/AIDS epidemic who are being cared for at the Lily of the Valley Children's Village in South Africa. They were trying to choose a child to sponsor at Sunday's LoVEFest at Gardens of the World in Thousand Oaks. The annual event, which includes live music, food and an auction, finds sponsors for orphans and this year will also raise money for a second orphanage in a neighboring village. More ...
