Concert will benefit local food banks

The second annual Music4Meals concert will be held outdoors, weather permitting, from 4 to 7 p.m. Sat., July 26 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1 W. Avenida de Los Arboles, Thousand Oaks.

The public is invited and is asked to bring nonperishable food, blankets, pillows or toiletry items which will be distributed to local food banks and to the needy. Cash donations for Lutheran Social Services will also be accepted.

Attendees can bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating.

Bands performing at the event will include The Shades featuring Johnny Garcia and Chris Marasco as guitarists and singers. There will be a variety of musical groups performing '50s and '60s songs, contemporary pop, '70s and '80s music, and Christian rock.

Music4Meals project leader Julie Marasco will be on hand to answer questions about the program.

The December Music4Meals event in 2007 raised a large amount of food donations as well as $2,020 in cash donations for Lutheran Social Services.
