Workshop next Wednesday to provide Fair Housing Accessibility training in Ventura County

2008-07-03 / Community

Ventura County will host a free Fair Housing Accessibility training from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wed., July 9 at the County of Ventura Administration Building, 800 S. Victoria Ave., Ventura.

All homebuilders, developers, architects, designers, property management companies, rental property owners, advocates and people who are interested in accessibility requirements and compliance under the Fair Housing Act should attend.

The Fair Housing Act requires that all new multifamily housing- including apartment complexes, condominiums, active adult housing and other types of housing- is usable and accessible by people with disabilities.

The workshop will help provide technical guidance on compliance with the accessible design and construction requirements of the Fair Housing Act.

The event is supported by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and sponsored by the Housing Rights Center, the County of Ventura and the Area Housing Authority.

Space is limited and registration is required. To register, visit www.fairhousingfirst.org.
