Residents should lobby strongly for Lang Ranch Park safety necessities

Park plans for Lang Ranch are moving ahead. Residents should be concerned. The traffic problems will worsen.

I live near the dog park located in the Conejo Creek Equestrian Center. The dog park brings lots of traffic. In October 2007, my sons were hit by a car exiting the dog park. I've made numerous calls to the city and to Conejo Recreation and Park District, (reminding them) that they need a stop sign and crosswalk at the exit (because) there's a school at the east and west sides of Avenida de Las Flores where kids cross these driveways five days a week.

I've received not even a response from anybody about my concerns. This won't stop me from asking.

Make sure all safety aspects are mitigated as they build your park. The parks and rec district needs to be reminded to please finish and take care of what they've started.

Maybe they can put a few hundred dollars aside from their Lang Ranch project to install the safety signs (that are needed) at the dog park entrance and exit.

They could save a life. Heidi Duran Thousand Oaks
