Band members beautify the city
     JANN HENDRY/Acorn Newspapers COMMUNITY SERVICE- Members of the Thousand Oaks High School Band and volunteers, along with staff of the city of Thousand Oaks Municipal Service Center plant new trees on Teasdale Street in Thousand Oaks. Grant funding of $57,000 was awarded to Thousand Oaks through the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, which enabled the "Median and Residential Enhancement Tree Planting Project." Volunteers will plant 570 trees citywide. The event occurred last Saturday.

'Puck' stars in his own fairy tale
      An unhappy couple, misguided parents and an arranged marriage make for confusion in the forest. With the audience's help, Puck, the mischievous sprite from Shakespeare's play "A Midsummer Night's Dream," can put things right- or make them worse- in the next production for Fairy Tales in the Park, presented by the allvolunteer troupe of Gypsies in a Trunk.

Smooth jazz comes to Westlake
      Hyatt Westlake Plaza will kick off the second annual Westlake Jazz Series with triple Grammynominated British group, Acoustic Alchemy, on Sat., June 28 at the hotel, 880 S. Westlake Blvd., Westlake Village. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
