Viewpoint alumna (class of 2005) Hayley Bock of Newbury Park, a sophomore at Harvard University, was one of six Harvard softball players selected to the All-Ivy League second team.

Bock, a catcher for the Crimson, hit six home runs, tallied nine doubles and scored 32 runs, the ninth-highest total in Harvard's history. Bock also threw out all six runners who tried to steal on her in league competition.

"Hayley was a huge impact player with our softball program, and it does not surprise me that she has continued that at Harvard," Viewpoint softball coach Pam Oseransky said.

"She certainly deserves all of the recognition that she has received. Hayley's work ethic was unparalleled, and I am thrilled that it has all paid off for her."

At Viewpoint, Haley was a volleyball starter in 2002 and a softball starter for four years.

She received firstteam AllLeague honors for volleyball in '02 and was named first-team All-League all four years in softball.

Haley was named to the Daily News' All-Star team in 2005. She was also first-team All-CIF in '05 and league MVP in 2004.

As a student of economics, Haley is a research assistant in Harvard's American Inequality Lab, which is devoted to understanding the causes and consequences of inequality in American society.

Haley's also working on Project HOPE, a program based in New York which is creating bank accounts for fourth- and seventh-graders and distributing money based on test performance.
