Bureau seeks parents to adopt foster children
Children's Bureau will host an orientation for adults interested in adoption from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tues., June 24 at the Grant Brimhall/Thousand Oaks Library, 1401 E. Janss Road.
Adults may be single or married, English or bilingual Spanish speaking.
Homes are needed for more than 9,000 foster children in California.
Qualifying families receive training, certification, funds and 24-hour support to aid in the care of their adoptive children. Training is provided by Children's Bureau, a licensed foster family and adoption agency founded in 1904.
Families who can provide a home for two or more children, enabling brothers and sisters to remain together, are especially needed.
