Church has senior adult ministry workshop

The community is invited to a free workshop that will explore opportunities for ministry both for and to senior adults from 2 to 4 p.m. Sun., June 22, at Ascension Lutheran Church, in the sanctuary, 1600 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.

The event is sponsored by the church's Senior Adult Ministries Team.

Cliff Pederson, president of Church Resources Inc. in Huntington Beach and former president of Lutheran Bible Institute, will lead the workshop. He will offer insights into the need and value of senior adult ministry.

Pederson will also introduce participants to the Senior Ministry Inventory, a research tool that provides an assessment of needs and preparedness for preretirement and retirement age individuals and their families.
