T.O. business receives United Chamber award

Thirteen companies were recognized for community involvement and contributions to the local economy at the recent United Chambers of Commerce Small Business Awards Breakfast. The event was held at the Beverly Garlands Holiday Inn.

Established in 1977, the nonprofit United Chambers of Commerce of the San Fernando Valley and region is a coalition of 32 organizations, including 24 chambers of commerce, representing 21,000 businesses that employ more 387,000.

Businesses were honored for contributing to the economy or for showing potential to enhance the quality of life. GreenWave Energy Solutions of Thousand Oaks was one of only a few companies to receive the award, after being nominated by the Agoura/Oak Park/Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce.

GreenWave Energy Solutions is working to harness the power of ocean waves to provide a clean, renewable source of energy and is made up of five partners: Wayne Burkamph, Tony Strickland, Dean Kunicki, Gary Gorian and Bill Bustamante.
