City takes honor of being family friendly employer

For the sixth consecutive year, the city of Thousand Oaks is being honored as a "Ventura County FamilyFriendly Employer."

The award, given for promoting policies and practices that allow employees flexibility in meeting the demands of work and family, is presented by the Ventura County Business WorkLife Alliance office at Child Development Resources.

The Business WorkLife Alliance of Ventura County Advisory Board awarded 18 employers in Ventura County with the designation. In addition to the city of Thousand Oaks, recipients include Amgen Inc., the Ventura County Star, California State University Channel Islands and the United Way of Ventura County.
