Radio show wins award for adaptation of Dickens' classic

Every Now and Then Theatre's 2006 Christmas radio adaptation of Charles Dickens' "Christmas Carol: A Ghost Story" has won an International Communicator Gold Award of Excellence.

The troupe's 2007 Halloween radio adaptation of Washington Irving's "Sleepy Hollow: The Lost Diaries" has won an International Communicator Silver Award of Distinction. The show starred Bob Decker of Camarillo.

Both broadcasts won in the category of radio entertainment. They aired on AM 1520 KVTA and were streamed worldwide on the station's website.

Broadcasts were co-directed by Linda M. Stiegler of Thousand Oaks and troupe founder James M. Wortman.

The 2006 Christmas show cast was Glenn Campbell, Kuba Chyla, Bob Decker, Claude Dodson, Gordon Durich, Erin Fagundes, Keith Hurt, Vivien Latham, Ray Mastrovito, Devin Milligan, Kayla Milligan, Alec Nave, David Newcomer, Vanessa Orr, Debbie Price, Penny Puente, Mark Andrew Reyes, Robert "Doc" Reynolds, Ronald Rezac, Brittany Schaver, Cameron Schaver, Jeff Schaver, Linda M. Stiegler, Michael Voll, Ronda Voll, James M. Wortman and brief cameos from Tim Conway and Cheryl Ladd. Live sound effects were performed by the cast. Sound engineer was David Tuomi of Thousand Oaks.

The 2007 Halloween show cast was Arryck Adams, Lloyd Allen, Jim Barker, Bob Decker, Jim Diderrich, Elaine Fleisher, Shawn W. Lanz, Alex Mastrovito, Ray Mastrovito, David Newcomer, Vanessa Orr, Deidre Parmenter, Penny Puente, Mark Andrew Reyes, Brittany Schaver, Jeff Schaver, Linda Schaver, Linda M. Stiegler, Todd Thayer, Nicholas Viecco, Michael Voll, Ronda Voll and James M. Wortman. Music was performed by Michael Masley. Live sound effects were performed by the cast. Sound engineers were Stage 6 Productions, Jim Barker and Tom Mueller.
