Two officeholders should take heed from Measure B Now that it's over it's time to review the furor over Measure B. This was a blatant attempt by a commercial enterprise to protect its market and was defeated handily despite the attempt by a few local politicians to use Measure B as a vehicle for their own goals. It's time for Ventura County Supervisor Linda Parks and City Councilwoman Claudia Bill-de la Peña to stop their divisive attacks to further what's proven to be a failed agenda. Their disregard for the basic mission of a council member or county supervisor has been borderline incompetent. Supervisor Parks and Councilmember Bill-de la Peña: you are public servants. Your mission is to provide leadership for the future development of this community. It would be appropriate if we could go forward from here with the needs of the community as your purpose. Leave the politics of confrontation and intrigue behind. Martin Anderson Thousand Oaks |
