Dunn and the teachers union are both to blame

Here's my two cents concerning the ongoing battle (May 29 Thousand Oaks Acorn, "Trustee refuses to comply with settlement").

We have a teachers union that's relentless in attempting to punish a Conejo Valley Unified School District trustee for polling teachers. Regardless your opinion of Dunn's actions or the subsequent lawsuit, the entire matter has been reduced to a petty and egotistical struggle for superiority. The money spent- - and yet to be spent- - on attorneys and professional fees, the time spent thinking, strategizing and planning on this issue and the general disdain being exhibited in all matters is both financially draining and remarkably juvenile.

If the people involved- - on both sides- - can't see that this has gone far enough, and if anyone of a higher authority can't or won't put an end to this, the whole lot of them should be recalled, terminated or otherwise de-employed.

For the board and union leaders who keep pushing this: You were elected to accomplish things of a higher value than this.

For Dunn: Sometimes you just have to plug your nose and move on for the greater good.

To all of you: None of you hold moral superiority in this matter. So stop behaving like snotty teenagers and get on with the business you were elected for or resign and let others get the job done. Joe Seigo Thousand Oaks
