Two officeholders should take heed from Measure B
      Now that it's over it's time to review the furor over Measure B. This was a blatant attempt by a commercial enterprise to protect its market and was defeated handily despite the attempt by a few local politicians to use Measure B as a vehicle for their own goals.

      Here's my two cents concerning the ongoing battle (May 29 Thousand Oaks Acorn , "Trustee refuses to comply with settlement"). We have a teachers union that's relentless in attempting to punish a Conejo Valley Unified School District trustee for polling teachers.

      While budget cuts continue for Conejo Valley Unified School District, district leadership hasn't emphasized that the budget deficit is a whole district problem, which is causing some parents to turn against University and Meadows schools.

With bad choices, our schools will fall like dominoes
      When I was a kid, I would spend hours lining up dominoes in anticipation of starting a chain reaction which resulted in all of the dominoes falling down in sequence. Recent events in Conejo Valley Unified School District have reminded me of this activity, and I'm frightened at the negative repercussions that loom as a result.
