Patricia Jones, president and executive director for Alliance for the Arts, received the Not-For-Profit Leadership Award at the recent seventh annual Women in Business Awards and Reception.

Jones was recognized for her leadership in raising more than $20 million for the Civic Arts Plaza in Thousand Oaks.

She's credited with building the Alliance for the Arts organization from the ground up, which has been recognized twice by the National Endowment for the Arts as one of the most successful public/private partnerships in the country.

Jones' nomination was submitted by Star Marketing & Media Inc.

Twelve women recipients were chosen from 100 nominees of business owners and leaders in a variety of business categories from Los Angeles, Ventura County, and the Antelope and Santa Clarita valleys.
