Library will host 'Stories from Afghanistan'

Global Exchange Ventura County Supporters will present "Stories from Afghanistan" from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wed., June 25 at the Grant Brimhall/Thousand Oaks Library, 1401 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.

Professor Nancy Gallagher, chair of Middle East Studies at University of California Santa Barbara, will discuss her recent trip to Afghanistan on a Global Exchange Reality Tour, "Women Making Change." The delegation of five women spoke with Afghan women in nongovernmental organizations, met with human rights activists and celebrated International Women's Day with the Ministry of Women's Affairs.

The event is free and open to the public.
