Jewish genealogists to discuss Holocaust records
The Jewish Genealogical Society of the Conejo Valley and Ventura County will hold a meeting from 3 to 5 p.m. Sun., June 29 at Temple Adat Elohim, 2420 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.
The topic will be "Genealogical Records from the Holocaust: The Breakthrough?" The presentation will cover what is and is not in the International Training Service archives, the largest collection of records on Holocaust victims and survivors, as well as how to access it.
Presenter Peter Lande is a volunteer at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and has been involved in a project to identify and collect in a single computerized database the names of all Holocaust victims and survivors, whether Jewish or non-Jewish.
