Governor appoints Superior Court judges
Kevin DeNoce and David Worley take the bench for two retired judges
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has appointed Kevin G. DeNoce and David R. Worley to judgeships in the Ventura Superior Court. They were among 17 superior court judicial appointments and three appellate court appointments made statewide on Fri., May 16. DeNoce has served as a commissioner for the Ventura Superior Court since August 2007. Prior to that, he was a sole practitioner in the law offices of Kevin G. DeNoce in Ventura from 2003 to 2007. From 1996 to 2003 he was a partner in the Law Offices of Andrade & DeNoce LLP. His primary areas of practice included criminal defense, DUI defense, criminal appellate practice, personal injury and administrative proceedings before the Department of Motor Vehicles. He's a past president of both the Ventura County District Attorney's Association and the Criminal Justice Attorney's Association of Ventura County, a recipient of the Outstanding Prosecutor of the Year award from the Ventura County district attorney's office and a recipient of the Ventura County Criminal Defense Bar Association's Joyce Yoshioka Award recognizing outstanding contributions to the criminal justice system. DeNoce earned his bachelor of arts degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and his Juris Doctorate degree from the Pepperdine University School of Law. He fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Herbert Curtis. Worley has served as a commissioner for the Ventura Superior Court since August 2007. Prior to that, he was a partner in the law firm Wojkowski & Worley LLP, in Oxnard from 2003 to 2007. From 1990 to 2002 he was a partner in Arnold, Back, Mayfield, Mathews, Wojkowski & Zirbel and, from 1984 to 1990, he was an associate and then partner in the law firm Nordman, Cormany, Hair & Compton. Worley graduated with honors from California State College at Bakersfield. He also attended the United States Military Academy at West Point. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola University of Los Angeles. He fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Thomas Hutchins. |
