The Ventura County Astronomical Society will hold its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. Fri., June 20 at Mesa Union School, 3901 Mesa School Road, Somis.

The subject for the evening will be "The Search of Technological Extraterrestrial Intelligence: Why It Will Fail."

Guest speaker Dr. Benjamin Zuckerman has coedited six books, including "Extraterrestrials: Where Are They?" "The Origin and Evolution of the Universe" and "Human Population and the Environmental Crisis."

The meeting is free and open to the public.
