New gym opens in North Ranch

Junior Gym, home of Lyons Gymnastics Academy, announced the opening of a second location in the North Ranch Pavilions shopping center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tues., May 20.

On hand for the festivities were John Edelston, mayor of Agoura Hills; Dan Kuperberg, Agoura Hills City Council member; Mark Rutherford, Westlake Village City Council member; Al, Denise and Sarah Lyons, owners of Junior Gym; and Corinne Moore, the gym's head coach.

Junior Gym's original location in Van Nuys has been in operation for more than 15 years.

Lyons Gymnastics Academy is Junior Gym's unique competitive team program developed by Olympic medalist Betty Okino in 1998.

The academy offers instruction for children from 15 months to 18 years of age for every skill level; a competitive pre-team and team program; plus private lessons and birthday parties.

The gym is at 1145 Lindero Canyon Road at the intersection of Lindero and Kanan in Thousand Oaks.
