Ventura College offers summer classes

Ventura College Community Education is accepting enrollments for a variety of camps and classes for children as well as continuing workshops, seminars and classes for adults throughout the summer.

Children's science camps include Techno Robo Transformers, Zero G Rocket Science, Wild Animal Physics, Fun Park and Craz-E-Cool Electro Inventors.

Other children's programs include hula camp, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Camp Millionaire, reading development, hiphop, ship in a bottle and quilting.

Cooking classes for adults will be held at the Lavender Inn in Ojai, Cafe Firenze and the Secret Garden in Moorpark and the Greek at the Harbor in Ventura.

Other culinary classes include iced tea, low-glycemic cooking, wine appreciation and cooking with fresh spices.

More classes include flamenco dancing, songwriting, rowing at Lake Casitas, basic home repairs, acting, saving money with coupons, beginning Tagalog and the culture of the Philippines, "So You Want to Be a Movie Critic?" and chanting.

Career development programs include pharmacy technician training, notary public training, how to become a wedding planner and becoming a mystery shopper.
