Let our leaders lead, vote no on Measure B I finally found the truth and common sense necessary to make an informed decision regarding Measure B. There's been a deluge of letters regarding the measure, writers who appear to have special interest or affiliations with those involved in either side of the issue, and those who say they're writing about the measure, but you find their words flying all over the place. I believe everyone has a right to an opinion, but to read, month after month the same negativity can really be depressing. Many of the letters don't even focus on their main topic, dredging up unrelated news like it's relevant. The topic is Measure B: the "traffic" initiative. I've read the letter in the May 15 T.O. Acorn. Mr. Norkin has read Measure B. I concur. The backlash from the adoption of the proposition is not well thought out by most of the supporters of the measure. From what I've observed, we have an excellent City Council, Planning Commission, Conejo Recreation and Park District and many others in our community leadership. We've voted for them to govern the masses. The masses are those who work, enjoy time with their family, plant flowers and are unable to spend the hours it necessitates to run this terrific city. Let our leaders do what we've elected them to do. You should educate yourself prior to any election. I've read the measure and many other publications that give the facts and not their opinions. Aside from just reading Measure B it's important to know the fiscal and other impacts of Measure B, if it passes, on the city. An informed decision also encompasses evaluating those supporting and those in opposition to this important measure. Take a look at the vast number of our community leaders and organizations opposing Measure B relative to the few who support it. Thank you, Harry, whoever you are, for your well-written letter focused on the issue. I'll also be voting no on Measure B. Teri Young Thousand Oaks |
