Volunteer Opportunities

Residents are invited to participate in any of the following volunteer opportunities in the area. For more information or to sign up, call the phone number listed for the event.

•Haven Hills Inc. will begin volunteer training in June and applications are being accepted.

Haven Hills is a nonprofit agency in the San Fernando Valley that provides services to victims and survivors of domestic violence and also provides education to the community.

Volunteers may answer the crisis line, assist with children's programming, accompany clients to court proceedings, help with fundraisers, work on the Domestic Abuse Response Team, pass out literature at fairs and assist in other ways.

Volunteers are trained about the dynamics of abuse, laws and resources for survivors and peer counseling skills.

Especially needed at this time are volunteers who can work weekdays or evenings and late night shifts. Spanish speakers are also needed.

•The Conejo Valley Retired and Senior Volunteer Program is recruiting men and women ages 55 and up to assist at a variety of nonprofit agencies.

Lutheran Social Services needs volunteers to answer phones and greet clients in reception. Volunteers are also needed to teach classes in parenting, resume writing, job search and other areas.

Hospice of the Conejo needs volunteers to help with light office work, answer phones and assist with bulk mailing.
