Buy a bag, fight malaria

The Greater Contribution will hold a fundraiser to support the movement to end malaria from 1 to 4 p.m. Sun., June 8 at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.

The "Buy a Bag to Beat Malaria" fundraiser and luncheon will include a silent auction of new and used designer ladies bags and gym bags, door prizes, drawings and guest musicians Cherie Deeds and Alberto Dal Pino.

Malaria is the largest killer of children under age 5 in Africa. Each year, more than 1 million children die from the disease.

Proceeds will be dedicated to purchasing mosquito nets and saving the lives of vulnerable children.
