Senior receives college scholarship from Disney

Sidney Primas, 19, a senior at Westlake High School, was named as the 2008 the Walt Disney Company Foundation Scholarship recipient.

The scholarship awards full tuition for four years of undergraduate studies at any accredited college or university in either business administration or fine arts.

Primas plans to attend Duke University to major in business administration and bioengineering.

His career goal is to complete two graduate degrees and start a business designing braincomputer interfaces.

The scholarship recipient is chosen based on participation in Junior Achievement programs, scholastic ability and extracurricular activities. Primas served as president of his JA student company for three years.

Primas will graduate first in his class of 599 students.

His extracurricular activities include soccer, water polo, swimming, president of the National Honors Society, president of Future Business Leaders club, volunteering at the Westminster Free Clinic, and participation in a church program to built a house in Mexico for a needy family.
