Newbury Park

Burglars stole property from the Boys & Girls Club at Sequoia Middle School on May 9 or 10.

A male, 26, was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of an opiate at 8:15 p.m. May 12 in the 1600 block of Camino Olmo.

For allegedly drinking bottles of Corona beer in public and lacking adequate identification, two males, ages 27 and 25, were arrested at 10:55 p.m. May 11 at Avenida del Platino and Calle Diamonte.

A cellphone was stolen in the Newbury Park Library between April 21 and May 8.

Somebody vandalized bathrooms with graffiti at Peppertree Park on May 13 or 14.

A burglar cut locks of storage containers and stole property on May 8 or 9 in the 800 block of Tourmaline Drive.

Vehicle-break ins occurred on the following dates and places: On May 11 or 12 in the 3500 block of Frankie Drive (unlocked); around 2:20 a.m. in the 3400 block of Frankie Drive (unsecured); and around 2:20 a.m. May 12 in the 800 block of Jenny Drive.

Thousand Oaks

A thief entered Dejaun Jewelers at The Oaks mall and asked the salesperson to examine an expensive diamond ring at 11:47 a.m. May 11. The male suspect then ran out of store without paying for the ring. A vehicle was waiting for the suspect when he exited the mall and the subject escaped.

A male, 22, was arrested on charges of actively participating in a street gang, using offensive language to incite violence, and for possessing a switch-blade knife at 12:30 a.m. May 9 in the 800 block of Warwick Avenue.

The following subjects were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol at the times, dates and places indicated: A male, 21, at 10:55 p.m. May 7 in the 1600 block of Tiburon Court (subject was driving down Erbes Road at a high rate of speed, lied about identity and allegedly fled on foot from the scene after he was pulled over); a male, 26, at 8:18 p.m. May 8 at the intersection of Conejo School Road and Los Feliz Drive (subject allegedly fled the scene of a vehicle collision he was involved in); and a male, 56, at 12:29 a.m. May 10 at Hampshire Road and the 101 Freeway.

A female, 41, allegedly inflicted corporal punishment by biting her child's cheek at 12:08 p.m. May 7 in the 1700 block of Tiburon Court. The subject was arrested at 4:10 p.m. later that day in Simi Valley.

On suspicion of being under the influence of controlled substances, the following subjects were arrested: A male, 46, at 7:05 p.m. May 3 in Conejo Creek South Playfield park; a male, 39, at 6:28 p.m. May 8 in the 1400 block of E. Janss Road (subject was driving down wrong way in a parking lot, ran by foot from his vehicle when he was stopped, and allegedly possessed a small amount of methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe); a male, 35, at 5:10 p.m. May 9 at Lynn Road and the 101 Freeway; a male, 50, at 8:30 p.m. May 9 in the 100 block of Summerfield Street; and a female, 34, at 8 p.m. May 9 in the 100 block of Summerfield Street.

For allegedly battering and causing injury to a woman, a 41year-old male was arrested at 5:40 p.m. May 14 in the 600 block of Warwick Avenue.

A male, 19, was arrested on charges of possessing less than one ounce of marijuana, a violation of his probation terms, at 10:40 p.m. May 8 in the 800 block of Warwick Avenue.

A male, 18, was cited for possession of marijuana at 9:55 p.m. May 2 in the 1300 block of E. Janss Road.

A male, 18, was arrested and cited for possessing less than one ounce of marijuana on school grounds at Thousand Oaks High School at 9:30 a.m. May 9.

A male was arrested on charges of possessing without a prescription a substance believed to be Vicodin, at 9:51 p.m. May 8 in the 2400 block of W. Hillcrest Drive.

A male, 20, fled the scene of a traffic collision that caused property damage in the 1900 block of Montgomery Road around 11 a.m. May 11.

Property was stolen between May 4 and 11 in the 2200 block of Laurelwood Drive.

For allegedly making annoying phone calls to someone over a fourmonth period, a female, 51, was cited at the East Valley Sheriff's Station at 10:25 a.m. May 1.

A male, 18, stole merchandise from a store at 3:46 p.m. May 10 in the 300 block of W. Hillcrest Drive.

A male, 28, was arrested for allegedly lying to officers about his identity at 7:35 p.m. May 10 in the 100 block of N. Skyline Drive.

A male, 23, stole merchandise from Best Buy in 390 N. Moorpark Road at 7:05 p.m. May 12. The subject possessed wire cutters used to remove the store's sensor tags.

For failing to pay a taxi driver a fare of $156, a female, 20, was cited at 9:08 a.m. May 12 in the 1500 block of Covington Avenue.

Vehicle-break ins occurred on the following dates and places: On April 29 in the 1600 block of Oldcastle Place (thief broke into and stole property from locked and unlocked vehicles); on May 1 or 2 in the 1300 block of Calle Chrisantemo (window smashed); on May 9 or 10 in the 600 block of Cricketfield Court (unlocked); on May 12 in the 1100 block of Hendrix Avenue; on May 11 or 12 in the 1800 block of W. Hillcrest Drive (unlocked); on May 12 or 13 in the 3600 block of Lang Ranch Parkway (unlocked); on May 12 or 13 in the 3100 block of Woodgreen Court (personal items removed from vehicle); on May 12 or 13 in the 4200 block of Arrowhead Court (burglar stole property from two vehicles, one locked and the other unlocked); and on May 13 or 14 in the 3100 block of Darlinton Drive (property stolen from the bed of a pickup).

A thief stole two people's mail on the afternoon of May 7 in the 300 block of Rimrock Road.

Vandals caused $1,300 in paint damage after throwing eggs on a vehicle between May 5 and 8 in the 2000 block of McCrea Road.

Property was damaged between May 10 and 12 in the 2200 block of Townsgate Road.

A burglar broke into a locked garage and stole property valued at more than $400 between April 25 and May 6 in the 3100 block of Black Hills Court.

Property was stolen from a building around 12:30 p.m. May 9 in the 1300 block of N. Moorpark Road.

An unknown male shoplifter attempted to steal a $2,000 computer from the Best Buy at 390 N. Moorpark Road at 3:10 p.m. May 11.

Property was stolen from a side yard on May 13 or 14 in the 3300 block of Pembridge Street.

The wheel handle of a water valve was removed at Glenwood Elementary Schoolbetween May 9 and 12.

A burglar broke into a home and stole property from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. May 9 in the 1800 block of W. Hillcrest Drive.

A male, 20, was arrested on charges of drinking in public and violating his probation by hanging out with gang members on a dirt hill near Whole Foods at the dead end of Sheffield Place around 8 p.m. May 12. According to the report, several subjects were drinking and urinating in public.

For allegedly being drunk in public, a male, 37, was arrested at 6:08 p.m. May 11 at Moorpark Road and Mayflower Street.

A male, 49, was cited for drinking beer in public at 7:05 p.m. May 9 in the 1400 block of Thousand Oaks Boulevard.

A male, 52, was found lying down a bed of flowers and cited for being drunk in public at 10:30 a.m. May 10 in the 1100 block of E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard. The subject was transported to Los Robles Hospital based on his condition, intoxication and level of disorientation.
