People in the know are opposing Measure B I'm impressed with the list of prominent citizens of Thousand Oaks who are voting "no" on Measure B. Also, I believe in our democratic election system; we vote into office those we trust to do the best for our city. For the throngs who don't bother to vote in local elections, they're allowed no complaints. There's not much sense in having officials if we're not going to let them do their job. If we don't like what they do, we vote them out. But also I believe most highcost projects are put to public vote anyway. We're obligated to have housing and facilities for our growing population, as is the world. The basis of our problem seems to be lack of involvement in local elections; that's what we need to improve. Join me in voting no on Measure B. Elinor Gustafson Thousand Oaks |
