Park district did what it had to do
2008-05-22 / Letters
In response to Mr. Redner's criticism of Conejo Recreation and Park District's Nick Turner, I have to say that although I understand his perspective, it's unsupportable in practicality (May 15 T.O. Acorn, "Park district wouldn't let kids have fun.")
When I was a kid in the 1950s, in all probability a city crew happening on the scene may have lent the kids a hand.
That was then, this is now.
Unfortunately no government agency can leave itself open to the liability of this type of unauthorized activity.
I've dealt with Mr. Turner, and he's a responsive and conscientious public servant.
