Conejo Valley 4-H club elects new officers

The Conejo Valley 4-H Club recently elected its youth officers for the upcoming 2008-2009 club year.

The officers are Kathy Bass, president; Amelia Meyer, vice president programs; Marirose Meyer, vice president ways and means; Kathy Bass, treasurer; Katie Trockey, secretary; Kyla Vinson, parliamentarian; Emma Trockey, communications officer; Katie Trockey, newsletter editor; Kyla Vinson, librarian; Victoria Stanton, historian; Emma Trockey, community service officer, and Genna Lipman, Casye Yarnell and Leah Yarnell, sergeant of arms.

The club has completed several community service activities in the past year, including making and donating fleece blankets to Project Linus; preparing sack lunches for the Conejo Homeless Shelter; donating book and clothing to local charities; collecting food for the Thousand Oaks food bank, and donating items to U.S. troops abroad.

Other club activities include public speaking, competitions, judging events, safety lessons, and constructing an awardwinning float for the Conejo Valley Days Parade.

The club meets the second Monday of the month and participates in the Ventura County Fair.
