Celebrity golf to help charity

The Kiwanis Club of Thousand Oaks is hosting a Celebrity Golf Tournament on Mon., June 23 at Moorpark Country Club. All proceeds from the tournament will help Community Conscience of Thousand Oaks, a group that assists Catholic Charities, Lutheran Social Services and Conejo Youth Employment, among other organizations.

The cost of the tournament is $225 per golfer, and the fee includes participation in a putting contest, long drives (men and women), closest to the pin and $1 million for a hole-in-one on the applicable hole. An awards banquet is planned, which includes a live and silent auction and raffle prizes. Reservations are now being accepted.

So far, 26 celebrities have promised to play among the foursomes, including former Olympic gold medalists Bob Seagren, Mitch Gaylord and Al Joyner; Alan Thicke; Kermit Alexander; Pat Boone; and Chad Everett.
