      Measure B provides to the voters of Thousand Oaks the right to vote on major projects which will impact traffic, noise and other environmental issues.

Can't understand why housing group opposes Measure B
      The letter by Rick Schroeder of Many Mansions borders on the hysterical ("Another group sees the dark side of Measure B" May 8 T.O. Acorn ). I couldn't imagine a project with less traffic impact than housing for low-income seniors. It wouldn't come close to requiring a vote under Measure B.

Measure B isn't everything it's advertised to be
      There have been a lot of letters pro and con concerning Measure B, the socalled traffic initiative. On one hand, the supporters of the measure censure Home Depot for fighting the measure, and the other side criticizes the Do-it Center for backing the proposition to block Home Depot from being a competitor.

Owner of Do-it Center is resorting to personal attacks
      The people backing Measure B have no limit on audacity. First, they hired out-of-town signature gatherers, paying hotel bills, etc., only to have them tell people they were "saving open space" by signing the petition. There's no mention of or relation to open space in Measure B.

      I had a chance to meet one of our next congressional hopefuls this past week. His name is Michael Tenenbaum. We had a great talk about the rising gas prices and what I consider the failing educational system. After speaking with him, I would definitely feel better about these issues if he were my congressman.
