Eighth-grader from Lake Sherwood makes verbal commitment to play basketball at Kentucky

      Last week Michael Avery decided what college he's going to attend. Now all he has to do is choose a high school. Avery, a 15yearold eighthgrader who attends Ascension Lutheran in Thousand Oaks, made a verbal commitment to play basketball at the University of Kentucky beginning in the fall of 2012.

Newbury Park, Agoura in lacrosse final
Thousand Oaks, Westlake are eliminated

      After splitting their season series, the Agoura and Newbury Park lacrosse clubs will meet in the Southern California Lacrosse Association championship game Friday night at NPHS. The Newbury Park Prowlers earned a trip to the final with a 4-3 win over the Thousand Oaks Knights Tuesday night.
