Restoration summer camp registering kids

FINDING FOSSILS- Students learn about paleontology at last year's "Discovery Nature Camp." Mountains Restoration Trust will offer this year's camp beginning in June. Mountains Restoration Trust's "Discovery Nature Camp" is accepting reservations for the three sessions held at Headwaters Corner in Calabasas.

The camps are open to children ages 8 to 12, and are held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Dates and subjects for sessions will be:

June 23 to June 26: Stream ecology, reptiles and amphibians, Native American culture, field trip

July 21 to July 24: Paleontology, outdoor survival, insects, field trip

Aug. 18 to Aug. 21: Geology, birds, mammals, field trip

Each session has a different theme and includes a guided hike, related craft and a field trip to Malibu Lagoon State Beach.
