Postal carriers to collect food on Saturday

Postal carriers will be collecting for a food drive on Sat., May 10. Postal routes throughout the county will be collecting food from residents. Items are to be placed near mailboxes.

Areas include:

•Thousand Oaks Post Office- 3435 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks

•Wake Forrest Post Office- 41 S. Wake Forrest Drive, Ventura

•Santa Clara Post Office - 675 E. Santa Clara Street, Ventura

•Oxnard Main Post Office- 1961 N. C St., Oxnard

Only nonperishable items are accepted. Especially needed are peanut butter, jelly, canned meat, beans and rice.

Residents who live in the listed areas are encouraged to leave bags of nonperishable donations next to their mailboxes to be picked up.
