Park district chair is named director of the year

Conejo Recreation and Park District board of directors chair George Lange was named Director of the Year during the California Association of Recreation and Park Districts annual conference in April.

Lange was recognized for his advocacy for recreation, parks and open space in California, especially in Conejo Valley, Ventura County and the Santa Monica Mountains, as well as for his service as chair of the Conejo Recreation and Park District board of directors, vicechair of the Ventura County Local Agency Formation Commission, president of the Ventura County Special Districts Association and vice chair of the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority.

Lange has also served as chair of the Corporate Board, Southeast Ventura County YMCA, and chair of the California Lutheran University Scandinavian Festival.

He's been active in Kiwanis International, Conejo Future Foundation, California Lutheran University and Ascension Lutheran Church Men's Group.
