The boys' golf teams from Westlake and Royal high schools entered the first of four Marmonte League championships Tuesday deadlocked in first place, with each team having lost only one league match all year- to each other. Two years ago, the former Thousand Oaks High head boys' volleyball coach decided to bring sophomore Cyrus Kiani up to the varsity team because of a lack of youth on the squad. DOMINATION- The Newbury Park U-10 boys' All-Stars from AYSO Region 42 went undefeated to win the Apricot Jam Tournament in Moorpark. Newbury Park played four rounds, defeating the T.O. The Oaks Christian boys' tennis team has wrapped up its third Tri-Valley League championship in the past four seasons, and for the first time in program history, the Lions are back-to-back league title winners. Entering Wednesday's TVL regular-season finale against Oak Park High, OCHS was 150 overall and 13-0 in league. More ... Two of the state's top-ranked softball teams will do battle today as the Simi Valley High Pioneers (22-0, 9-0 in the Marmonte League) host the Thousand Oaks Lancers (16-3, 8-1) at 3 p.m. at Rancho Santa Susana Community Park in Simi. More ... Thirtytwo schools competed in the 28th annual Royal Swim Invitational/Josh Mlakar Memorial Meet last weekend, but it was Oaks Christian that dominated the event. More ...
