Church Women United to host salad luncheon

The local unit of Church Women United will host a salad luncheon and service at 10:30 a.m. Fri., May 2 at the United Methodist Church of Thousand Oaks, 1000 Janss Road.

The theme of this year's May Friendship Day is "God's wisdom inspires hospitality," based on Matthew 25:35,40. During the meeting, discussion groups will examine other scriptures on the theme.

The service will include the annual dedication of offering to the Fellowship of the Least coin, a worldwide movement that seeks to instill peace in families, communities and the world through setting aside a penny for every prayer offered for peace and reconciliation.
