Chabad plans community Passover events
ChabadThousand Oaks Jewish Center will host a public burning of chametz (leavened bread and other leavened products) at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow, Fri., April 18, at Fire Station No. 31, 151 Dusenburg Drive in Thousand Oaks.
This ceremony represents the cleaning of leavened products out of homes in preparation for Passover.
A community Passover Seder will be celebrated at 8 p.m. Sun., April 20 at the Thousand Oaks Jewish Center, 2060 E. Avenida de Los Arboles, Thousand Oaks.
The Seder will feature traditional food with an ongoing explanation of the meanings behind the customs. The ceremony is open to all Jews regardless of affiliation or observance level.
The cost is $40 for adults and $30 for children under 12, although no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Reservations are required.
