Cops chase suspects on foot at mall Three men, David Pahua, 18, and Gabriel Delgado, 23, both of Thousand Oaks, and 20-year-old John Lomeli of Oxnard were stopped by authorities at 4:45 p.m. March 23 for a vehicle code violation regarding the car they were in, a 2001 BMW. Prior to stopping the car on Conejo Boulevard near W. Hillcrest Drive, Senior Dep. Russell King ran a record's check, which revealed the automobile had been listed as stolen the previous day from a home in Thousand Oaks. When the vehicle came to a stop, all three occupants fled on foot to Janss Marketplace. A perimeter was set up, assisted by a Ventura County Sheriff's Department helicopter and officers from the California Highway Patrol. The suspects ran in three separate directions, but all three were eventually captured. An investigation revealed that all three men were alleged members of a street gang. They were arrested and charged with vehicle theft, conspiracy, resisting arrest and for alleged involvement in a criminal gang. They were booked into Ventura County Jail. |
