Film festival to screen British comedy
      Temple Beth Torah's fifth annual Ventura County Jewish Film Festival will open at 7 p.m. Thurs., April 3. Unless noted otherwise, all films will be shown at the Regency Buenaventura 6 Theater at the 101 Freeway and Telephone Road in Ventura.

Patriotic music concert to help Stagecoach Inn
      The Stagecoach Inn Museum Foundation will present "America, Lift Up Your Voice" at 2 p.m. Sun., April 6 at the Scherr Auditorium at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., Thousand Oaks. Based on the "period concerts" of the last two years, this concert of American pieces is the third in this series by the museum foundation.

Gardens of the World seeks local artists
      Each year, Gardens of the World hosts local artist exhibits in its resource center. Dates for 2009 are available to artists on a first come, first served basis. Viewing hours on reserved dates are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays. Each artist will receive a display period of at least one week.

Westlake High School softball team to benefit from comedy show at The Canyon
      The Westlake High School girls' softball team will present "A Night of Comedy" fundraiser at 7 p.m. Sun., March 30 at The Canyon club, 28912 Roadside Drive, Agoura Hills. Performers will include Bruce Baum, The Unknown Comic, Vic Dunlop and Tim O'Rourke of The Drew Carey Show. Other comedians will be added.

For the record
      It was reported last week that "The Mikado" continues through Sun. March 16 at the Theater on the Hill in Thousand Oaks. Actually performances will continue through March 30.
