Religious Scientists will offer special programs in March

The Westlake Church of Religious Science will present the following special programs in March. All events will meet at 880 Hampshire Road, Stes. V and W, in Westlake Village.

•The Next Step: The 13th step beyond the 12 Step program of AA, NA, OA. This program is for people who deal with an addictive person in their lives, such as a spouse, child or sibling.

The group will assist them on releasing responsibility for the addictive behavior and provide the tools to live a healthy, independent life while loving themselves and the addict. This group is not for addicts themselves.

The group meets from 7 to 8 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays. Fran Crellin is the facilitator.

•Chaplain Bill Curtiss of the Hospice of the Conejo will preside at the 10 a.m. service Sun., March 9.

•A drum circle will meet at 8 p.m. Wed., March 12. All are welcome, and no prior hand drumming experience is necessary. Participants may bring hand drums or shakers if they have them.

•Ongoing Sunday services are the prayerful "Time for Transformation" from 9:30 to 9:50 a.m. and "Celebration of Life" with Dr. Sue Rubin and the Rev. Jim Lockard at 10 a.m. A children's program also meets at 10 a.m. The theme for March is "Awakening humanity to its spiritual magnificence."

The teen group meets at 10 a.m. on the first and third Sundays and at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Sundays.

•Ongoing weekday programs include Science of Mind classes, midweek meditation, Wednesday Night ALIVE and spiritual cinema night on the third Thursday.
