Los Robles Master Chorale celebrates 30th anniversary Los Robles Master Chorale is celebrating its 30th anniversary and the 30-year career of its founding director, James Stemen. The chorale will bid farewell to Stemen during the Celebrate! concerts at 8 p.m. Sat., March 15 and 4 p.m. Sun., March 16 in Samuelson Chapel at California Lutheran University, 60 W. Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks. The audience is invited to a reception following Sunday's concert. The show features favorite songs from past seasons and a world premiere by Thousand Oaksbased composer Wilbur Skeels. Music includes "A Jubilant Song" by Norman Dello Joio, "Hallelujah" from "Mount of Olives" by Beethoven, "Ecco Momorar l'Onde" by Claudio Monteverdi, and various opera selections. The chorale will also perform Lloyd Pfautsch's "Triptych," composed of texts by William Shakespeare, Andre Marvell and Joseph Addison. Skeels, the group's assistant conductor, will present his new piece "Canticle to the Waterbirds," composed on a text by William Everson," and another composition "Missa Ex Terra Nova." Soloists are Marilyn Anderson, Karen Winner Huff, Deborah Mayhan, Ruth Robertson, Leanna Brand, Gabriel Reoyo-Pazos and John Ross Nelson. Tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door, with group rates available for groups of 10 or more. CLU students are free with current ID.
