Open invitation from president of T.O. Little League

Saturday marks the 40th Opening Day for Thousand Oaks Little League.

When looking back at the history of the league, one word comes to mind: tradition.

T.O. Little League is filled with tradition, and has committed 40 years to providing an excellent youth sports program to more than 25,000 children ages 4 to 18.

The league has instilled in its players the importance of being good stewards within the community, the importance of winning with class and losing with dignity, working hard and giving your all under any condition.

Thousand Oaks Little League has always been and will continue to be the "champion" for all youth.

With more than 63 postseason tournament victories, including two World Series championships, Thousand Oaks Little League is ranked among the most successful programs in the history of Little League.

Please come out to Colina Middle School Saturday at noon as the league celebrates 40 years of tradition within our great community.

Happy Birthday, Thousand Oaks Little League. May you continue to be a cornerstone of our community for many years to come.

By John A. Short III, Thousand Oaks Little League president.
