Voters deserve to be heard on major projects

Why are four of the Thousand Oaks City Council members afraid to give voters the right to decide on big development projects? They say that we, the voters, don't want to be "bothered" with voting on projects over 100,000 square feet that will affect traffic congestion, but I say, "Yes, we do!"

It seems that these politicians say they're for slow growth just to get elected and then turn around and approve every project that's presented, completely disregarding what the citizens want while keeping the developers happy.

I trust the voters of Thousand Oaks to pass the upcoming Right to Vote on Traffic Congestion Initiative when it's on the ballot in June. This initiative doesn't stop big development, it just gives us the power to choose if it's right for our community on an individual basis. Holly LaRue Thousand Oaks
