Interlochen Arts accepting applications for summer camp
Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan is accepting applications for its summer program for students in grades three to 12. The suggested application date is Feb. 1, but students are accepted until programs are full.
Scholarships and financial aid are available, but preference is given to those who apply early.
The summer programs, which bring in young artists from all 50 states, range in length from one to six weeks and will begin June 14. Programs are offered in music, creative writing, dance, filmmaking, theater, musical theater and visual arts.
High school musicians may apply for a merit-based Emerson Scholarship, which provides full tuition, private lessons, and room and board for the sixweek summer program.
Emerson applicants must be in grades nine to 12 and demonstrate exceptional proficiency on harp, string, wind or percussion instruments. An audition submitted on tape or CD is required with the application.
