Mobile home park coalition will not give up the fight
Conejo Mobile Home Park residents want to thank the members of the newly formed Thousand Oaks Mobile Home Action Coalition (TOMHAC) who came out on Tues., Jan. 22 to ask the City Council to please keep the medium density General Plan designation consistent for all mobile home parks in the city of Thousand Oaks. We were ignored. Dennis Gillette, Jacqui Irwin and Tom Glancy voted to change the General Plan designation on Conejo Mobile Home Park to high density. The City Council member appointed to help us retain our assets and our ability to stay in Thousand Oaks--Andy Fox--didn't bother to show up at this critical hearing. Councilmember Claudia Bill-de la Peña was the lone proponent of protecting mobile home parks in Thousand Oaks. It isn't over. We intend to fight for fair market value for every displaced resident, whether the City Council majority supports us or not. Again like I said in the City Council meeting, "We will not give up."
