Why close a school with good grades?
      I'm sending this as a concerned resident and parent of Newbury Park. My neigborhood school, Maple, was ranked No. 1 for school closure, the only one in Newbury Park. Conejo Valley Unified School District has always been a desirable district to be a part of; however, the decision for school closure is not acceptable.

Mobile home park coalition will not give up the fight
      Conejo Mobile Home Park residents want to thank the members of the newly formed Thousand Oaks Mobile Home Action Coalition (TOMHAC) who came out on Tues., Jan. 22 to ask the City Council to please keep the medium density General Plan designation consistent for all mobile home parks in the city of Thousand Oaks.

Put some teeth in the anti-smoking law for our city
      Regarding the anti-smoking law under reconsideration by the T.O. City Council, I truly hope they put some teeth in it. Whether indoors or out, cigarettes stink. When one goes to a restaurant, it's for the food, service and "atmosphere," which may include music as part of the ambiance.
